What is report text? Kalian sudah pernah mengetahui tentang report text belum? Report text is a text that presents detailed information about something in general based on research. Dalam bahasa Indonesia, report text (bisa diartikan sebagai teks laporan) adalah teks yang berisikan informasi rinci mengenai sesuatu secara umum berdasarkan suatu penelitian. 

Seperti yang sudah kita pelajari sebelumnya tentang report text, teks laporan atau report text adalah teks yang memberikan informasi informasi rinci mengenai sesuatu secara umum.  Bentuk teks laporan antara lain, misalkan: artikel-artikel ilmiah yang ada pada ensiklopedia. 

Tujuan Report Text

What is report text used for? Tujuan utama dari teks laporan atau report text adalah untuk menginformasikan fungsi khusus atau informasi detail suatu objek, atau dalam bahasa Inggris, the purpose of report text is to inform about certain functions of a participant.

Selain itu, penjelasan lainnya dari report text adalah bentuk teks yang berisi penjelasan detail ilmiah tentang suatu objek. Yuk, ketahui lebih lanjut mengenai jenis teks ini beserta strukturnya!

Ternyata, teks laporan atau report text itu hanya terdiri dari dua bagian. Kedua bagian tersebut adalah general classification dan descriptions. Apa sih maksudnya kedua bagian dari struktur report text ini? Mari disimak! 

Struktur Report Text

Sama seperti teks lainnya, report text juga memiliki struktur tersendiri. Berikut adalah penjelasan mengenai struktur report text.

1. General Classification

General classification atau klasifikasi umum adalah bagian struktur report text yang berisi pengelompokan umum dari objek yang dibicarakan. Bagian ini biasanya berisi informasi dasar dari objek tersebut. 

Pengelompokan yang dibahas antara lain meliputi informasi, misalnya jika report text-nya membahas tentang hewan, pengelompokkan umumnya dapat meliputi nama ilmiahnya, jenis makanannya, dan hal atau aspek yang paling dikenal dari objek tersebut

2. Description

Description atau deskripsi adalah bagian struktur report text yang berisi penggambaran dari objek yang dibicarakan secara lebih rinci. Misalnya, fisik dan fungsinya, habitat, dan lama masa hidupnya.

Contoh bagian description dalam sebuah report text:

It can grow up to 30 m high. They have a single cylindrical trunk. At the top of the trunk there are pinnate leaves. They are about 3 to 4 m long and the pinnate 60 to 90 cm long. The fruit is oval and the diameter is about 30 cm long. It has thick husk and a hard shell. Inside the shell there is white meat and sweet liquid.

Description

On average, the weight of domestic cats ranges from 2.7 to 4.5 kg. The average lengths are 71.1 cm for male cats and 50.8 cm for female cats. In addition, cats maintain their energy by sleeping a lot. They can sleep for 12 to 16 hours a day. 

Cats possess sharp claws on their feet that they use to catch their prey, fight, and climb. Despite having a sensitive vision, they cannot see very dark surroundings very well. However, they have a good balance. They are able to quickly pick themselves up when they fall. One of the unique characteristics of cats is they walk on their toes. Moreover, cats like to keep themselves clean by licking their body.
